Stephanie Hirata is currently a TV news reporter for WDAZ 8 in Grand Forks, ND. Recently she graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and minor in Communication Studies.  She previously was a freelance Production Assistant at CNN in NYC.

Throughout college, Stephanie interned at College Beat TV,  NBC during the Summer 2012 London Olympics, Spanfeller Media Group in NYC, was an assistant video director at her university’s student news outlet, Daily 49er TV 2013-2014 and interned at CNN’s morning show “New Day” in NYC.

Her passions are meeting new people, trying new things and story telling.

Aside from her professional passions, Stephanie personally loves animals, traveling, volunteering, photography and staying active. In addition, she is a member of Alpha Phi Omega, a national coeducational service based fraternity and served as one of the Special Events Chairs on the executive committee for her chapter 2013-2014. She’s participated in many service projects including Project Linus and Paint Your Heart Out.

Stephanie was born in Queens, New York, lived in West Orange, New Jersey and Long Beach, California and currently resides in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
